self-awareness and building an effective team

2019 Dates now available!

Tuesday 2 and Wednesday 3 July - AIM Canberra

'Teams and Leadership: self-awareness and building an effective team' is a two-day program designed for APS 5 and 6 staff working at this level who want to step into a leadership role within their team and workplace.

The objective of the program is to develop understanding and skills in managing yourself and others in a challenging and diverse work environment that is comprised of many generations, cultures, virtual teams and flexible working arrangements.

Over two days, participants will build self-awareness about working in and leading an efficient and effective team, and begin to develop personal management and leadership skills to cope with change and setbacks, and to create team.

The course includes sessions covering:

Over this workshop you are encouraged to share thoughts, experiences, knowledge and ideas on leadership.  The most effective approach to leadership development is to allow honest self-reflection and listen openly to others’ thoughts and experiences and consider the benefits that can be gained from adopting new practices and approaches that may come from best practice and contemporary management and leadership research.

Program Leaders

Program Leader

The course is presented and led by Kylie Holyland, a CPM consultant with over 25 years of public sector experience working with individuals, managers and leaders to maximise individual and organisation performance and to build skill and confidence

Executive Coaching

One of the challenges of attending a two-day program is to not lose sight of the various insights, ideas, plans and issues that arise during the course. Some of them are far too important not to follow up.  'Teams and Leadership" offers a one hour coaching session to take place in the weeks following the program. The coaching session provides one-on-one time for specific issues to be discussed and is provided by our experienced Executive Coach at our office in Canberra.
