'From Manager to Leader: Knowing, Doing, Being at the executive level' is a three-day program is designed for experienced EL1 and EL2 officers seeking to broaden their leadership impact within their organisation.

The program is consistent with the APSC Leadership Development Strategy and includes a 360° feedback report and optional Executive Coaching sessions.

The rapidly changing demands on public service managers requires you to not only know how to lead, and to demonstrate leadership behaviours, but also to “be” a congruent and values-driven leader.  From Manager to Leader: Knowing, Doing, Being at the executive level explores and addresses these and other issues in a practical and experiential way.

Program Leaders


The course is presented and led by Nick Thomson and Renee Mack, who are CPM consultants with a broad range of experience in leadership and management development.

The program includes a DiSC Work of Leaders profile and a 360° Feedback Profile based on the Integrated Leadership System (ILS). Executive Coaching 

One of the challenges of attending a three-day residential program is to not lose sight of the various insights, ideas, plans and issues that arise during the course.  Some of them are far too important not to follow up.

‘From Manager to Leader’ offers a one hour coaching session to take place in the months following the program. The coaching session provides  one-on-one time for specific issues to be discussed. The coaching session is provided by our experienced Executive Coach at our office in Canberra.

Residential Delivery  - The Briars, Bowral

The Briars is near Bowral in the NSW Southern Highlands, midway between Canberra and Sydney, some 15 minutes drive from the Hume Highway. More information on the venue is available here.

Your organisation will be invoiced for the GST inclusive fee of $4,500.

This includes meals, accommodation and return bus transport between Canberra and the program venue. 

Non-residential Delivery  - AIM Canberra

Located in the Canberra CBD, AIM Canberra has state-of-the-art training facilities, an on-site chef and a team of dedicated staff to make your program attendance one to remember

Your organisation will be invoiced for the GST inclusive fee of $3,500.

This includes a networking dinner on the first night of the program at a Canberra City location.

Cancellations or deferrals for both residential and non-residential programs after the closing date will attract a cancellation fee of up to $750, alternatively substitutes can be accepted up until 14 days before the course begins. For full T&Cs click here.
